Using it up...

I know many of you are wearing the same shoes that I am...you know the ones that make you want all of great new releases from CHA-W? the stuff you absolutely DO NOT NEED? but, you just HAVE to have it?

So that means that I have to use some of the stuff that I already have so that I can buy more stuff that absolutely ~~do not~~ NEED. Enter My Mind's Eye...my all time favorite paper and embellishment manufacturer. I wish just once CHA they would produce a line or two or three that I didn't like...just once. But, alas, this release is no different for me. I LOVE every single thing. So, I'm using up some of my "older" stuff to make room for the newer stuff.

Today I have the first of many cards that I've made...

This one features My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose papers, sticker, and brad. Spellbinders brand new Aster Flower Topper S5-102, and Classic Ric Rac E8-004. Threw on some old (very old) prima crystal swirls for some bling.

With a title like this it must mean that Valentine's Day is right around the corner. This card features lots of fun little things. Some die cutting, some misting, some vellum, some stamping, some sewing and some bling.

Papers are from the Pink Paislee Sweetness line, jewels are from Want 2 SCrap, and I used the following Spellbinders die templates...Classic Heart, Classic Scallop Heart, and Big Scallop Circles LG.

Well, it's off to the gym for me this morning after I drop the kiddos off at school! Woohoo! I've been cleared by my physical therapist for the recumbent bike, not exactly my first choice but better than the nothing I've been able to do for the last 6 months. Can't believe how excited I am! :)

Medallion Wreath

As promised in last weeks post for the Spellbinders blog post I am back to share with you all how to make the medallion wreath that was my second project in the Blog Frenzy. Here's the picture of it to remind you what it looked like...

Instructions:

1. Choose which five papers you want to use and determine which layer you want each to be. (I will be referring to mine as 1-5, 1 being the largest seafoam green layer and 5 being the middle coral centerpiece).

Layer 1: Cut four 3x12" strips

Layer 2: Cut three 4x12" strips

Layer 3: Cut three 3x12" strips

Layer 4: Cut two 4x12" strips

2. Choose which Edgeabilities dies and decorative inserts you want to use on each layer. I used a combination from E8-009 Classic Decorative Inserts One and E8-007 Classic Edges One for each layer.

3. For each layer cut all strips with the Edgeability and Decorative Insert of choice. In order to cut the full length of your strips just simply line up your dies with where you last cut stopped (see above) and run through your machine again. You'll notice on below that on layer 4 I only used the Edgeability die template.

4. Score all strips at 1/2 intervals and then accordian fold. Once you're done scoring then adhere the strips, that are the same, together to make one long strip.

5. Once you have four long strips then adhere the ends together and then they should look like this.

6. Cut descending circles out of chipboard, one for each layer, make sure that the diameter of each circle is smaller than the diameter of your paper layer so that the outer edges cannot be seen under the decorative edges of each layer. Below is an example for layer one. I used a bowl to draw a circle on my chipboard just to use as a guide for gluing my paper layer to.

7. Apply a liberal amount of glue to the out edge of your chipboard circle. Place the bowl in the middle upside down and then push down the paper layer around the bowl. You don't need to use the bowl, but I found that it made it easier to get that paper layer into a nice circle.

8. Do all four layers in the same manner.

9. Then glue them all together so that you have something that looks like this...

10. Cut your decorative center piece out I used Spellbinders Splendid Circles for mine and then embellish the center.

11. Ink all of your edges, apply glue and glitter. Adhere ribbon and you are done!

The papers that I used for this project are from Fancy Pants' Road Show line, letter alphas are from Studio G, heart stamp is Gina K.

Finally...

I have finally found some time to use the Lily Bee collection Head Over Heels. It was one of my favorites from summer CHA. The colors are so me.

Today I have a card to share with you. It features one of the new Mbossibilities folders from Spellbinders that are being released this weekend at CHA-W. This particular folder is EL-004 Imperial. The thing that makes these folders so awesome is that they are DOUBLE SIDED!!! You get two different designs in every folder. Talk about more bang for your buck!

The teal paper that I embossed in from Core'dinations, it has a lighter teal core in the middle, so when the raised areas are sanded it brings out that lighter color, such pretty dimension!

For those of you that are wondering...I have been working on a post that features the medallion wall wreath I made for the Spellbinders blog frenzy, it's about half way done and I plan on getting it posted next week after I get back from CHA. Looking forward to spending some time in the sun!

ProjectInstructions:

1. Make a 5.5 x 5.5” card base.

2. Cut a 5x5” piece of patterned paper andadhere to center of card front. All of the papers that I used for this card arefrom Fancy Pants Road Show.

3. Choose four different solid color papers,cut three strips of the same size (5 x1¼”) from each of the four papers.

4. From each set of three strips, using your Spellbinders Grand Calibur machine, you need todie cut two using just the Classic Scallop Edge die template and one using the ClassicDecorative Inserts One Bead die template along with the Classic Scallop Edgedie template.

5. Adhere a strip of contrasting coloredpaper behind each of the four strips with the Decorative Bead cut out.

6. Layer your three strips from each solid coloredpaper, adhere them together. Adhere thestrips to your card front making sure to overlap one end on each set of strips.

7. Die cut and emboss and 1 1/2 x 8” stripof paper using Classic Scallop Edge andClassic Decorative Inserts One Hearts die templates. If an area didn't completely, add a paper or cardstock shim only to that section. Cut again, then emboss for a beautiful and intricate design!

8. Score strip at every “valley” of thescallop and right below the bottom tip of every heart.

9. Accordion fold strip of paper (make sureyou don’t fold the paper above the heart so that you maintain the rounded lookof the petals), glue ends together, and press down center to form flower.

10. Glue flower to small circle of paper forstability. Glue flower to lower right hand corner of card.

11. Die cut and emboss two leaves using LF-005Grand Peony Creations die templates. Ink the edges and the raised areas of bothleaves and adhere to card.

12. Stamp sentiment using Flourishes Tag Linesstamp set and embellish with Want 2 Scrap adhesive jewels.

Thesecond project that I made using these die templates is a wreath. I have plans to post another blog post in afew days with the focus being this wreath and how it was made. So make sure youcome back and check it out!

make me so happy! and so does this Handmade kit from Studio Calico. I've had to put it on hold for the last week in order to get a few other things done. I can't wait to get back to it! This is another card that I made using it. Yep, there's that same stamps that you saw in my last two posts. ADDICTED I tell you!

Scallops were made using Spellbinders Classic Scallop Edgabilites!

Ahhh...yep, that is a sigh of relief on my end. You see after 15 days out of school for the holidays, what was this mom of four looking forward to? That's right the return to school. Apparently, there were other plans in store for me. Plans of the not so fun type. Let's just say that the stomach flu started the night before school started and all of last week I had one of the four kiddos home with me. No fun for them either. I was the sole survivor. Thank God for small favors. Let's just say that I am looking forward to school this week. :)

A sturdy base

Hello! Here I am today with one of my projects for Clear Scraps. This is really using Clear Scraps in the most simplest and basic of ways.

When I received my Handmade kit from Studio Calico and saw their 12x12 die cut paper in it, I knew immediately that I wanted to use it as the background for a layout. Enter Clear Scraps 12x12 acrylic sheets. The perfect way to provide a sturdy base for a layout. I just adhered the die cut page to the top of the clear acylic and there you have it!

A match made in heaven! I love my SC kits and my Clear Scraps!

Whew! Time to dust this place out and clean out all of the cobwebs! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with those you love. This past month has been so busy...thus my lack of posts to this little blog of mine. Hopefully with the holidays behind us and the kiddos heading back to school in a few days I'll be giving this blog a lot more love!

So how about I start off the new year with a brand new card that I made just the other day? Used a Studio Calico kit for this and the Classic Scallop Spellbinders die template. The wet and chilly weather that we have been experiencing here has me dreaming of Spring and flowers and since those two things are still a long while away, flowers of the paper sort will just have to do!

Love that stamped background on the top portion of the card. So many different possibiliites with that! I have another card to show you in another post that uses that stamp again!

May 2012 be the best year yet for all of us!!!! Cheers!

Let it snow!!!!

Wow! So sorry for the long departure! I had a booth at our school bazaar last week and I have been super busy making all sorts of crafty goodness for it. Then it was over and the Christmas hoopla began, feeling a bit more caught up now. Still have a bare tree waiting for some attention and some gifts to purchase, but I at least feel like I can breathe a bit.

Those of you that know me, know I LOVE snow and wish we had WAY more of it in my neck of the woods. Unfortunately, we get a few flakes a year...which never really amounts to much other than a media frenzy. So, I pacify myself with crafty things pertaining to snow!

Today I have a little banner to share with you. I started with the snowflake album and used just three of the pages (leaving me more to use later). Combine that with Scor-Tape and glitter and oooh la la. Shiny, white and bright!

The centerpiece was made using Spellbinder Picot Edge Circles, Create-a-flake 3 and Technique Tuesday stamps. All links below!

Today'snew die is Wavy Rectangles

I decided to go Christmas with my project. Two nights ago we celebrated an early Thanksgiving with my family since my parents will be heading to Arizona for the winter and won't be here for the actual day. So now, I am really feeling the Christmas spirit!

I started with Crate Paper's Peppermint Twist line. I die cut, embossed and sanded two of the largest Wavy Rectangles out of the green chevron print paper. Cut the two edges off of one of the pieces and adhered them to the two sides of my card front. Used some 3D foam squares from Scrapbook Adhesives to mount the second piece for my focal point. Next, I die cut, embossed and inked the next smaller Wavy Rectangle. Then stamped it with a pink doily stamp from My Mind's Eye, spelled out NOEL using Jillibean Soup stickers and a brad from the same line as my paper. Lastly I embellished with little red jewels from Want 2 Scrap and buttons from Creative Impressions.

One sketch...two cards

I had a little bit of extra time this month and was able to make a card, actually two, for the My Mind's Eye sketch challenge. Here is the sketch that the following cards are based on...

You 'll see that for both cards I turned the sketch.

For this first card I used the positive piece from the Spellbinders Grand Labels Eleven die template.

Then on this next card I used the negative piece of the die cut.

A Little Snippet of Christmas.

Today I am joining the fun party going on over at the JUST RITE STAMPS BLOG.

Once you're done here head on over to their blog. On the 2nd of November they started a party. All you have to do is make a Christmas themed project using any of the stamp sets.

Today I chose to make a card. It features their Merry and Bright stamp set.

I started by stamping three of the ornaments with Versamark ink onto white card stock. Then I heat embossed the images with clear embossing powder. Next using the Spellbinders Grand Labels Twenty Three die templates I cut and embossed the image in one pass through the Spellbinders Grand Calibur machine. I left the metal die template on my paper and used it as a stencil when I applied the blue and green ink, that is how to achieve the white edge around the entire shape. Heat emboss the stamped images for the tops of the ornaments with silver embossing powder, fussy cut them out, apply to card with foam tape. Ahdere some twine and jewels, stamp the sentiment and you're done!

Make a wish...

Good Monday morning (actually late Sunday night for some of you). I have another Spellbinders project to share with you all today. A quick and easy simple card.

I had a difficult time getting the papers on this to link below so I'll tell you here the printed paper is from the same sheet (side A is the striped and side B is polka dots) and it is from My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose You & Me line. Hi peeps! Thank you so much for all of the wonderful comments on my last post! It's so fun to go through and read all of them! Plus, those were fun cards to make...three of my favorites...Spellbinders, Unity Stamps and Vintage Vogue line by Collage Press (via Pink Paislee).

Today I have a card to share with you. This was one of my assignments for Spellbinders and since it has hit the gallery over at Spellbinders I can now share it here. I love this little technique that I used on this. I used the star template off of the edge of the fold of the card. I think it adds such a cool and unique look.

I'm excited to share my projects with you. I have chosen to use the Blossom Tags and Accents die templates and the Blossom Stackers stamps. For my first card I just did some simple layering. I stamped the largest flower with white ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder then lightly blended some ink over the top. The rest of the layers were just stamped with chalk ink and then layered on top of one another with 3D Foam Squares. Lastly I embellished with some buttons and twine. Oh, and I also snuck in a little black decorative strip that was made using Classic Triple Scallop die templates.

Here's a little close up so you can better see the embossing.

For my second card. I used the same Blossom Tag and Accents Die Templates and the same Blossom Stacker stamps, however on this one I added a stamped scalloped decorative strip made using the Classic Scallop die template. On this one I cut down some the pieces so that they could be layered to create a cascading effect.

I love, love, love Halloween! A couple of weeks ago when I was in our local Craft Warehouse I saw these heavy duty kraft cones. They had a sample of one that was a glittery green Christmas tree. Well, I immediately thought of black witches hats. When I went to find the glitter spray I was faced with the decision of black or orange???? I wanted to try them both and decided to blend the two colors together. I am really happy with how they turned out! All of the paper pieces were cut using Spellbinders die templates and the Grand Calibur Machine.

The October 31st stamp was from the $1 section at CW and the ribbons are from Creative Impressions, everything else is linked below...

“The creative bloggingcommunity is coming together this weekend to help one of our friends, JulieRanae. You may know her as the DesignTeam Coordinator for many wonderful companies from bakers twine, die cuts, rubber stamps and more. What manypeople don’t know about Julie Ranae is that she has had some pretty majordental surgeries in her lifetime due to medication she had to take as a child. It was in her plans to think about having allof her teeth replaced at some point inthe next 5 years, a decision that was pretty easy to plan out. Butthen it happened…she chipped her front teeth on a weekend a month ago. Thedentist told her there was no way to save them & that it was hisrecommendation that she give in and have them all her teeth removed soon,but for that day, they needed to get her front teeth done so her gums could beginto heal. He said he would 'work outpayments with her to have ALL this work done...but when she called tomake her appt for the first step of impressions, they told her the amount ofmoney that was needed and that the 'payments'applied only to the two teeth that were extracted that day. Her husbandPaul was with her & that too, was his understanding as well. So this is howshe has found herself in this situation…Needing at least $4000 to get startedand another $3000 to finish the process…a total of $7000.

Nicole Rixon, owner of Sweet StampShop put together this benefit after finding out about this situation andbefore Julie Ranae knew it, it took flight!

Because she is an event organizer bytrade, she has taken on the job of organizing all of the blogs in this hop as herway of ‘working overtime’ for what she needs, the same as if she were able towork overtime at an outside job to pay for the work to be done.

Hi there! Today I have an project that was one of my monthly assignments for Spellbinders. I haven't been able to share much work that has been made directly for Spellbinders as they use it all for advertising and other publications. However, once it hits the gallery on the Spellbinders website it is up for grabs in the sharing department!!!!

I love the photos on this layout. My parents no longer have a house in town, so when they come to town they stay with us. In these photos my mom is sitting in the natural lighting at our kitchen table applying her makeup. My daughter came along and wanted to mimic her Nana. Here they are sharing the double sided mirror.

Clear Scraps day!!!!

Yep, I have a card made using Clear Scraps and I have a link for a Clear Scraps Contest!!!

First let's start with the card. I used the Travel Embellishments for this card...those cute little palm trees. They were easy to embellish. I started with Alcohol inks applied to the back and then just added some brown jewels to the front to simulate the coconuts. Everything else was from the Studio Calico Paper Moon kit. All links are listed below.

Lucky me...

She is one of the four reasons I feel like the luckiest person alive! Here's a project that I did for Clear Scraps. I also utilized a Studio Calico kit...Paper Moon.

Started this one by using a Road Trip embellishment from Clear Scraps. I used it as a mask to mist on the back of the 12x12 acrylic page and then again as a template to cut out all of the octagon shapes from various patterned papers.

Also, something to note... the machine stitching around the edge of the layout. Yep, you can do that with Clear Scraps acrylic...BONUS!!!! :)

This next one I put a piece of white paper behind the layout for the photo so that you could see the misting.

A cousin of my hubby's is getting married. This of course means that a card had to be made! Yes, these are my initials...no, that is not what they stand for in this case! Hee! Nothing better than being smooshed between two of my kiddos! Used lots of Basic Grey Out of Print for this one...all from the Studio Calico kit Boardwalk...lots of oh so yummy items in that kit, the colors are purely divine.

Used a scalloped circle die template from Spellbinders to make these folded circles for the wavy border.

Love these flower pins from Maya Road too!

Two pieces of my heart...

This layout features my two younger boys, the middle two of my four children. Their bond and closeness amazes me. They are such good friends...honestly, they NEVER fight. (Hope I didn't just jinx myself with that comment) My hope is that they are always this close, only time will tell with this though.

The picture on this layout was taken as we dropped the older of the two off for his week of summer camp. Used Studio Calico's Paper Moon kit for this one, featuring lots of October Afternoon! Oh, and that scalloped circle with the tiny stars...love...it is one from Spellbinder's summer release, the largest die in the Stars Circle set. Then the center was cut out using a Standard Circle die so that rocket image could show through!

Summer Camp

A few weeks ago we sent our second oldest child off to camp. We weren't real sure how he would as he is quite the homebody. He was super excited, said goodbye without looking back at us and off he flew...and, well, fly he did! He had the time of his life. He tried so hard to keep his composure when I picked him up, but those tears just wouldn't stop coming. My heart broke for him. Now all we hear about is how he can't wait until next summer to go back!

The photos on this layout are from when we dropped him off. I used a Studio Calico kit for this one.

<-----I have this same photo of these two the day we picked them up, however pretty sure I can't ever display it publicly if I want to remain in good momma standings!

<----- See that cabin? It was the coolest! The roof is all grass and wildflowers and the circle you see...that is the door! Each bunk had it's own window and reading light, not to mention they had a bathroom in there! Sure different from my days at camp!

Hope you all are enjoying the last few bits of summer. Two weeks for us until school starts again, I'm off to savor it a bit!

Perfectly ImpErfEct

Last week I handed my camera to my oldest son and asked him to take a few impromptu photos. Most of them weren't worth keeping (really it was that I didn't look worth keeping). However, the photo on this layout was a keeper, maybe not the perfect shot from the composition stand point. We almost didn't make it into the photo, but I LOVE it none the less. It may be imperfect, but to me, it is PERFECT!

Used up some more of Crate Paper's Emma's Shoppe. I'm down to just bits left, enough to eek out a few cards. Also pulled out the Lace Doily Accents and Twisted Metal die templates from Spellbinders.

Yep, after the madness of CHA and then getting all of my July assignments done, I had a little break to do some scrappy stuff just for me. I have had the Emma's Shoppe line from Crate Paper for a while just waiting for me to give ti some tender loving care. Add some sweet photos of my dd from her first session of ballet and I had a match in heaven.

A little challenge...

I had some spare time this month and decided to join in on the My Mind's Eye sketch challenge. I pulled one of all time favorite lines of theirs and went to work. These two cards both use Stella & Rose. Here is the sketch that was provided for us to work off of...

and here was my take on it...we had to make it a celebration themed card.

I flipped it to horizontal and used some Spellbinders die templates on it (Stars Five and Blossoms Tags & Accents)

I really liked this sketch and used it again for another card...

Used some more Spellbinders Die Templates with this one too (Classic Heart, Classic Scalloped Heart, Classic Circles and Lace Doily Motifs).

Speaking of My Minds Eye...swoon, have you seen their newest releases? Another round of Lost & Found...ahhhh, makes me a happy little girl! Oh and those 6 by 6 pads in, my wallet is going to be crying!!!

Swoon, I so love these new die sets from Spellbinders. Their versatility makes them so unique and they have such unlimited possibilities. Using just the decorative insert pieces from a few of the sets I whipped this card together (Ha! I can say whipped because most of the work was already done, I had used the strips on a layout for CHA and then had to change some things and these were left sitting on my desk. What better to do with them than turn them into a card?!) Remember I did not use the edger piece on these, just the decorative inserts.

I have to say that Susan, the owner of Clear Scraps, hit the ball out of the park with this release for CHA. Today I'm thrilled to introduce you to two new die templates, S4-340 Create-A-Flake Three and LF-347 Grand Labels Twenty-three. Create-A-Flake has five snowflakes that vary in size and design. The Grand Labels Twenty-three has 6 die templates that graduate in size.

Do you know what snowflakes and flowers have in common? No two are alike!!! However, I found that snowflakes and flowers are alike. The Create-A-Flake snowflakes translated beautifully into flowers, especially when the negative shape that the snowflake die template leaves behind is incorporated. I had originally cut the snowflakes out of some blank coasters to use on another project and when my eyes landed on leftover coasters I immediately saw flowers.

1) Cut and emboss S4-340 Create-A-Flake Three #2,4,5 out of blank chipboard coasters, with #1 being the smallest (I bought mine off of ebay). Lightly ink edges of coasters and sew around edges with a sewing machine. Back the "flowers" with polka dot paper. Set aside.

2) Cut 6.5x12" of Fancy Pants It's the Little Things Flocked Transparency and adhere 2" below top of Fancy Pants It's the Little Things Headed South Paper.

3) Cut two 1.5x12" strips of Fancy Pants It's the Little Things Feathered paper. Cut and emboss using the new Edgeabilities(r) die templates that Debbie Olson(E8-001 Classic Scallop bubble decorative accent) and Kimberly Crawford (E8-005 Classic Postage Stamp edger) introduced to you on July 6th.

4) Adhere strip of 1/8" Scor Tape over bottom edge of the striped strips. Remove protective coating and apply black glitter. Ink the decorative edge. Adhere strips to top and bottom of transparency.

5) Cut and emboss LF-347 Grand Labels Twenty-three #3 out of Fancy Pants It's the Little Things Honeysuckle. Stitch around the edges with black thread (I hand stitched). Ink edges and adhere to center of transparency.

6) Position 3x3 photo in the middle and adhere you two coaster pieces on each side of the photo.

7) Now to embellish your flowers on your coasters. Cut and emboss two S4-340 Create-A-Flake Three #5 die templates out of yellow Bazzill cardstock. As seen below, cut the large petals off of both flowers (I only did one in the photo so that you could see what I was referring to.) Stack the two centers together and apply to center of large flower in the coaster on the right. Turn the little petals up a bit and finish embellishing with a button and a jewel.

8)Next apply a good size drop of Beacon 3-in-1 glue to middle of flower on the top left of the coaster on the left and let dry a bit. Adhere Want 2 Scrap pearls around center of flower then arrange the little pile of negative pieces, that came from the center of the large petals, in a circle by sticking their tips into the slightly dried wet glue.

9) Finish the last flower by cutting and embossing the smallest snowflake from S4-340 Create-A-Flake Three #1. Adhere it to the middle and top off with a threaded Buttons Galore button.

8) Adhere the large petals under the edges of the of the "bumps" of your bottom striped paper and embellish with black jewels.

9)Apply rub on from Fancy Pants It's the Little Things and add journaling. Die cut and emboss S4-340 Create-A-Flake Three #3,4 out of polka dot paper. On the #3 fold the tips of each flower under to create the small rounded flower. Layer your flowers together and embellish with a small dot of yellow cardstock and a pearl. Adhere transparency leaves from Fancy Pants.

Ranger: Ink. Zig: Marker. Scrapbook Adhesives: 3D Foam Tape and Tape Runner.

Here I created a fun holiday wreath using S4-340 Create-A-Flake and LF-347 Grand Labels Twenty-three die templates...

The super glittery snowflakes hanging from the ribbon were made using the positive die templates from the chipboard pieces in the first project. Then I just sprayed them with an adhesive and applied a chunky opalescent glitter.

What a weekend!!! 6 baseball in the sun...YES, it finally quit raining for a few days and we actually had sun and80 degrees! One look at me and you would know my pasty white body isn't use to this, yeah, I'm now sporting a rudolph red nose and an oh so sexy farmer's tan! Not complaining though, it was the perfect weekend for 3 boys all in a baseball tournament.

Last week was a bit of a blur. My dad ended up having chest pains and shortness of breath, bit of a surprise as he recently had to stints placed. Unfortunately he was one of the unlucky ones that stints didn't work on and he ended up having triple bypass surgery on Thursday. He came through great and is now on the mend. So wishing I was in Arizona right now to help him get up and running again.

How about a little crafty sharing??? Today it is some more Clear Scraps. Started with an XL Dazed shape (the scalloped circle) and some Turquoise StazOn ink and some My Mind's Eye doily stamps. I love the look of stamping on the clear acrylic because it really gives it a three dimensional look.

Clear Scraps Brag Bag...

Hi all! I'm going to share with you a mini album from Clear Scraps. They have the cutest little Brag Bags. The shapes that all of these bags incorporate are just the cutest and are perfect for bragging about the ones that you love! There is even a suitcase/briefcase one for traveling or for the men in your life!

Today I'm going to share with you the Deco Brag Bag. I used the My Mind's Eye Lime Twist collection and some favorite photos of my family.

All of the scalloped photo mats, hearts and flowers were cut using Spellbinders dies. The doily stamps are also from My Mind's Eye. Hope you all are having a wonderful Tuesday (although it feels like a Monday!) Thanks for popping in!

This week has been teacher's appreciation week at our schools, so I thought I would share with you the little treat boxes that I have put together for my kids to give to their teachers.

I started with four of the individual pieces from the Clear Scraps Banner pack, then put a bunch of my Spellbinders die templates to work and created these cute little decorative pieces to adorn the boxes.

Cup Cards to Go continued...

Thought I would share with you all the rest of the cards that I made using the May kit from Cup Cards to Go...super cute kit full of new springish items (yep, I made up springish :) )

and this last one ended up being my favorite. I just took the entire sheet of Basic Grey rub ons and adhered the whole thing to the front of the card and then cut an opening in it using my Spellbinders Labels One die template and added another rub on inside for the sentiment then topped it all off with a little bling and that luscious chocolate brown satin ribbon!

Clear Scraps card

Today I have a Clear Scraps project to share with you. I started with the Restoration line from Crate Paper and the Clear Scraps Decorative Frames. Using one of the decorative frames, I trimmed off two of the ends and used these ends as a way to draw your eye to the focal point of the card. Using Timber Brown Stazon ink I stamped a flourish at the point of each the Clear Scrap pieces and lightly inked around the edges with the same ink.

I'm back....

Whew! How can one be so tired from a glorious week in Arizona without the kids or hubby? Well, I did take my daughter, but she spent 5 days with my parents while I was at the Spellbinders Design Team Retreat. What an amazing experience! I feel so blessed and honored and above all else very fortunate to be a part of this company. I honestly thought I knew what I was getting in to....but come to find out I had only the slightest clue. Such a fabulous company with fabulous owners who have hired fabulous employees and I am surrounded by fabulous design team members. I am so appreciative for the amount of work that went into making this the experience that it was and will be for the next year. For those of you that have seen the Oprah's favorite things episodes...let me say it was just like one of those! Their generosity and the generosity of the cross promotional and preferred product manufacturers still has me speechless. I feel so lucky that they chose me to represent them. THANK YOU so much Spellbinders!

How about a little eye candy now? This layout went live on the Clear Scraps blog while I was gone, so I thought I would share it here with you today.

I started with an XL Clear Scrap Dot (the larger of the two in the package). I then pulled out a plastic decorative mask that I have (bought a pack of 4 different masks in the kitchen section at Ikea, they are for decorating cakes with powdered sugar), this one is a large circle with a zig zag edge around it, and I centered it over the backside of the acrylic circle. Next, I sprayed around the edges with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. I always do that part at night before I go to bed and then set it aside to dry overnight. After it is dry I then spray a sealer over the top...Glimmer Mist is water soluble and it doesn't mesh well with my sweaty hands.

Next I flipped it over to the front of the layout and outlined the zig zags with a Zig Paint Pen and added the white dots with Ranger Enamel Accents in white.

For those of you that have been checking out my blog...this is the last of the My Mind's Eye Fine & Dandy Boy line you'll be seeing. I have officially exhausted the entire pack! :)

Make It Monday...

I haven't been able to get a card done for the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday challenge done in a few weeks. I couldn't pass this one up. This week was all about ink blending. So, I grabbed my Distress Inks and my PTI Delightful Doilies stamp set and went to "work". I started out by heat embossing the doilies with Versamark onto my white cardstock. Then I blended my Distress inks over the top. Lastly stamped over the top of it all with a text stamp. Lastly, I wiped my embossed doilies off with a baby wipe to get rid of the extra ink and to make them nice and white again.

Then since I had the stamps out already I decided to make a similar card with a completely different look. Used Jenni Bowlin inks for this one (except the purple, because she doesn't have a purple :( )

The sentiment on this one is from Scattered Showers.
