No Sun Required

Which seems to be the going trend here in the Pacific NW this spring. It has been so cold, and wet, and grey, and rainy, and YUCKY! I am so wanting some warmth, and sun, and Vitamin D.

This evening I have a Bo Bunny layout to share with you. This one was for a sketch assignment. The sketch was provided by another BB DT member, Rita Shimniok. Here's the sketch...

and here is my take on it using the Paradise line. This line is full of beachy themed things; like seagulls, shells, and palm trees. So, I made use of it by avoiding the theme. Love that about Bo Bunny, there are always 'B' sides to the papers that makes avoiding the theme easy to do!

The chipboard letters that make up the word 'sun' were a smooth cream chipboard. Didn't fit what I was looking for, nothing a little altering couldn't fix. I first painted them orange. Then ran them througn my Cuttlebug with an Impression plate from Papertrey Ink. Lastly I inked the edges up with some Barn Door Distress ink. Love the way that it turned out!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

To all of the number one dad's...

However, I am pretty sure that title belongs to my hubby. As I type this, he is in North Dakota with his father and our 3 little guys, in a motor home, for NINE days. Just me and my little girl are home. It is so nice and quiet. I've only done 1 (yes ONE!!!) load of laundry since they left last Friday evening....HEAVEN I'm telling you. :)  I am missing them like crazy, but am oh so enjoying my bonding time with my dd. We don't let the kids sleep with us unless they are really sick, but I have had this sweet little bundle in my bed with me every night. I am LOVING it. I went out with girlfriends for dinner last night and my mother-in-law put her in our bed to sleep. When I came home and got into bed she lifted her head, gave me the biggest smile, and immediately scooted over to snuggle right in and back to sleep she went. It's one of those things that us Mommy's miss when they get too old for this kind of stuff.

So, totally off track I went with that. Sorry. Back to business.

Did this for the Bo Bunny blog last week. A Father's day card and a matching gift box. All made with the Roughin' it line.

And a layout made with the same line of papers.

Happy Father's day to all!

Please join me in welcoming...

The new design team for A Million Memories...

We've added 4 new designers. I am a fan of all of their work and can't wait to get to know them better and be inspired by each of them...

They will be joining the rest of the team, sadly we are saying goodbye to Stacy Cohen and Sasha Halloway.

June kit from A Million Memories

Let me start by saying that this is such a pretty kit full of some very fun stuff. So far I have created 3 layouts and a card. I hope to make a few more cards as I have yet to use the Pink Paislee tape and the Prima flowers.

First up are the layouts...

And my card, which on the inside simply says 'birthday' to finish the sentiment on the front.

I apologize for the picture quality on some of these. I took a nasty fall yesterday with my DSLR in my hands and the both of us took a nice fall off of a 2ft brick wall. My camera landed hard on the flagstone patio. Cracked the body and now it won't turn on. :( So, I had to use my little point and shoot.
I'm okay, just some very pretty bruises. :)

Clear Cards

I love the look of clear cards. The acrylic adds such a fun and different look to a card. These were both made using a large 12x12 sheet of Clear Scraps acrylic that I cut down to size using my paper trimmer. The papers are from My Mind's Eye and the stamps are from Papertrey Ink. I colored the sweet pea images in with Copic markers and added some glitter for an extra little punch.

Happy Wednesday to you all!

Really????

Only 9...NINE more days of school left???? OY! Summer's are difficult. I have a bittersweet romance with summer. I love the casual, sleep in, no schedule, warmth of it. However, having four kids that range between 4-12 years of age makes it simply hard. What can a family do that actually entertains them all for more than 5 minutes...there is always one that is BORED! If you have any great ideas, please share. :)

Here's another quick layout made using the May kit from Studio Calico. I know this photo is overexposed, but it was one of those very rare, quick, fleeting moments amongst siblings. Didn't have time to change the settings on my camera and the evening sun was right in their faces. I still love it and am glad that I captured it!

Such fun colors huh?!
