Card Share

Hi everyone! Thought I'd share with you my latest creations for Simple Stories.

I was on a roll making cards and ended up making three for this assignment. My first two cards feature the Sn@p line and the brand new stamps that Simple Stories just released.

For  this card I focused on the Daily stamp set. Pulled out my chalk inks ( I found that chalk ink vs. dye or pigment ink worked best with these solid images), masked off a heart shape and stamped all of the speech bubbles inside the negative space. The today arrow was stamped onto vellum and a small chipboard heart and yellow brad topped it all off.

For my second card I focused on using the Snapshots stamp set.

I repeatedly stamped the open speech bubble onto cardstock using a white pigment ink and then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Next, I used Distress Inks to blend color onto the card stock.

For my last card I had been dying to put the brand new brads to use, so I pulled out the  24/Seven collection. I made a faux ribbon border using some washi tape and then used brads in descending size as my focal point.

Loving how versatile the Simple Stories collections are!

My Mind's Eye Guest Blogger

Thought I would take a moment to share with you all of the projects that I did for my guest design spot at My Mind's Eye last month.

This first layout and card were both made using the Collectable-Remarkable line.

My hubby getting ready to do what he loves. He found a pair of very expensive waders for a ridiculously low price on ebay and was so excited over these lovelies...

Lots of heat embossing on that layout and also on this card...

This next layout and card are both from the Collectable-Unforgettable line...

A trio of cards...

These next two feature the bright and happy My Girl line...

Lastly a layout that features one of the decorative tape sets, red and black...

Thanks for stopping by...starting next month I'll be getting to share lots of My Mind's Eye projects with you as I get to be a permanent part of their design team!

My Sunshine

Happy spring to you all! Wow, has it been nice to have a spring break that actually has some beautiful spring like weather. Usually for this part of the country it's the time of the year where the rain starts and never seems to want to end. We've actually been having sun and are supposed to have a lovely Easter weekend. Nothing better the sun shining on all of those eggs!

Today I have a layout from Simple Stories to share with you. It features the Vintage Bliss Colllection. One of my favorite releases from this last CHA. When I saw the images on the computer before the samples were sent to us, I thought it was pretty. But once it was in my hands I totally fell in love with it!!!! The colors are super bright and happy and it kind of took me by surprise at how much I loved it!

Lots of hand stitching and machine sewing on this. The turquoise trim was cut using my Cameo.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Time for change

It always amazes me at how true this saying is. I just didn't expect it to prove itself so dang fast!

After being on the Clear Scraps design team for almost five years, my time with them has come to an end. They've been a great company to work for. I've seen them go through so many changes...brand new owners, so much new product, and a ton of growth. It was seriously such a positive experience. If any of you ever have a desire to try out for their design team in the future, I would highly recommend it. Lovely people, lovely company. It was such a win/win situation for me.

So with that being said, I'd like to share with you my most recent project made using the Clear Scraps product. Pretty sure it won't be the last you'll see. For one, they are extremely generous with their product and I have more than enough in my stash to last a life time and I will be doing some freelance work for them in the future.

This last CHA Clear Scraps came out with own line of masks. For this layout I used the 12" Fans and then sprayed them with Mr. Huey white mist. After that came A LOT of hand stitching. I created a rainbow border around the edge.

So with this post I say a heartfelt good bye to Clear Scraps.

As I said above, when one door closes another opens. Come back tomorrow and I'll be sharing which door has been opened. It honestly, is my scrapbook dream come true!

Color Challenge

I found that I had a little extra time on my hands today so I decided to participate in a color challenge that Papertrey Ink was hosting today. They are celebrating their six year anniversary and have been having some fun challenges. You can find them here on Nichole's blog.

This was the inspiration piece that I chose to use for my card.

I opted to make a rather clean and simple card, since I had limited time to get it done and picture taken before daylight was no longer.

I started with the Square Prints stamp and die set. Underneath my line of squares is a wide strip of Scor-Tape and blue glitter.

...and yes, your eyes are not deceiving you, those are some VERY vintage square brads that I used to separate each of the squares. Gotta say they were just the touch that I was looking for!

I have some Valentine items to share with you tomorrow. See you then!
