Runway Inspired

Hey all, hope those of you that have spring break this week are enjoying yourselves. We just got back from Central Oregon where we spent some great family time. Today I have a card to share with you that was inspired by the latest challenge over on the Runway Inspired challenge blog.

The background was made by "smooshing" some watered down distress inks onto a piece of watercolor paper.  Once it was dried I directly stamped the red butterfly onto the watercolor paper.

For the 'hugs' sentiment I cut it out three times in dark grey and adhered those together to give it some dimension. Then to kick it up a notch I cut the bottom half of the word out of a sheet of coral card stock and then adhered a cherry red iridescent glitter to it.

The aqua butterfly and brad  that are in the center of the stamped butterfly are from an older My Mind's Eye collection.

This is the image that was the inspiration for the challenge...

Products:
Inks: Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass, Black Soot, Festive Berries) Versafine (Onyx Black)
Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Beautiful Butterflies, Big Hugs)
Dies: Papertrey Ink (Big Hugs)
Brad: My Mind's Eye (Follow Your Heart)

Thanks for stopping by!

Fall is in the air

Not sure about where you all are, but here in the Pacific Northwest fall has definitely made it's appearance. The air is chillier, the leaves are beautiful with their colors, and the rain has made itself known again.

Today I have a trio of cards to share with you These were all made for My Mind's Eye using a variety of collections. They haven't had a fall themed collection in a while, so for this assignment I had to pull pieces from some different collections. I love doing this!

This first one was made using primarily Indie Chic (paper and button), used my Scor Tape for the stripes of glitter, the wood frame is from Studio Calico, and the rest is from Papertrey Ink (felt, die, and that gorgeous script stamp).

For this next one I put my Silhouette and lots of MME decorative tape to use.

This next uses Indie Chic again. I die cut two leaves out of the paper and backed the negative space with contrasting paper, then I cut a third leaf out of felt and adhered the positive piece to the front of my card. 'Falling' was cut with my Silhouette.

Happy fall to you all!!!

While the boys were away...

the girls played!

For the last couple of years, right after school has let out for the summer, my husband has taken the boys and gone on a little road trip to North Dakota. While they were gone I wanted to document the time that my daughter and I spent together. We started with a list of things that she wanted to do and then just worked our way through that list.

This layout was made using My Mind's Eye Kate & Co.- Cambridge Court.

The green arrow border around my grid is washi tape.

Stamped the little hearts and then embellished them with enamel dots.

Love me some girl time with my little one!!!!

Cute

Happy HOT Monday morning to you all. Wowza is it warm! Yesterday we were lucky enough to be out on the boat and swimming in the middle of the lake. Unfortunately today is back to reality, so thankful for A/C.

Today I have a layout to share with you from My Mind's Eye. This one was based upon an inspirational collage of photos (you can see it HERE...scroll down to June 3rd). First, I loved the colors. I am pretty sure that this was a color scheme that I would not have come up with on my own, but I love how they look together...bright, happy and a touch of glimmery gold!

This one used a mix of products from many different collections: Lost & Found 3 Ruby, Collectable Remarkable, Lime Twist, Miss Caroline, Stella & Rose-Hazel, The Sweetest Thing-Tangerine, Find Your Wings and Fly- Up & Away and Spread Your Wings, Indie Chic- Ginger.

I love pulling an assortment of items from different collections. My Mind's Eye always impresses me with how well their products play off of one another!

Off to water my flowers or else they are going to wither away to nothing!

Thanks for stopping by!

Papertrey Ink June Blog Hop Challenge

Welcome to the PTI June blog hop. Today's challenge was to add a touch of gold to your project. LOVE gold, so I jumped in with both feet on this one!

I added some gold in three different places. The most obvious of them is the strip of gold glitter that sits atop the strip of washi tape. The second and third areas are a bit easier to see in the close up. I used my gold ink dauber to add splash in the center of my flower (it's much more shimmery IRL). The third spot is just a wee touch in the twine that ties the button, it's white with a gold thread running through it.

Supplies:
PTI: Limitless Layers Square Dies, Embroidered Blooms and Ruby Rose Stamp Sets, Harvest Gold and Hibiscus Inks
My Mind's Eye: Chevron Paper and Washi Tape, both from Find Your Wings & Fly: Sky's the Limit

Growing in Unity...Day Two

Hi Peeps! Welcome back to another day of stamping from Unity Stamp Co.. I have another project today that uses the Samantha Walker Blossom Stackers stamp set. On this one I also utilized the coordinating Spellbinders dies.

This card was the result of what we like to call of happy little mistake. Originally I had in mind that this was going to be a shaped card. Then after I attempted to die cut it, I realized that I used card stock that was too heavy. It had only cut through the first layer of paper....BUT it then had made a lovely impression on the inside of the card. I thought it was kind of cool so I went with it! You can see a glimpse of it below.

...and here is that impression in all of it's glory!

That will be a great little spot for my hand written sentiment!

See you all back here tomorrow! Don't forget to leave a comment to be entered into the random drawing to win an Itty Bitty stamp of your choice!

Couple of Cards

Happy Friday everyone! I'm here today to share with you a couple of cards that I honestly did just whip  together with some scraps that were left on my desk. I love to make cards after I get done making a layout. There is usually enough stuff left over on my desk to put one or two together.

These were made using some My Mind's Eye...

This first one was super quick and simple as the leaves and flowers were already pre-cut and just sitting there waiting to be used.

Another pretty simple one that utilizes a bunch of thin cut strips of patterned paper.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. We are enjoying some beautiful weather in our parts, should be perfect for the soccer and baseball games on our schedule.

Ahhhh....

These were the good times...having your bestie in the same class as you. This year they were split up, at first I thought this would be a good thing. However, after a two weeks plus of clinging and crying every morning as I am trying to leave her classroom I find myself wishing they were together again! She never cried in preschool or kindergarten, this has me a bit perplexed. Oh well, I know it will pass and eventually there will some new really good friends. I'm just praying the transition comes about quickly...she's breaking my heart. I did notice another little girl having some of the same emotions and talked to her mom. She came over after school a few days ago for a play date and that seems to have helped them both out a bit. We made it through Thursday and Friday with no tears!

This layout uses a Studio Calico kit...City of Lights if I remember correctly!

I saw an arrow shape on the Silhouette website that was very similar to this, and I knew it was an easy one for me to re-create on my own, so I made my own cut file for it. Super easy...I should so do that more often!

Hope you are all having a wonderful Monday!

A Love Like No Other...

Hi peeps! I'm here today to share with you a card and a layout that I made for the My Mind's Eye September challenge called "Make it Work". This challenge was to make a layout and then use the remnants from the layout  or coordinating products to make a card.

I started with the photos, after I printed them out I knew right away that I wanted to use the Lost & Found 2 line.

Then the matching card...

For both of these projects I pulled out some of my Papertrey Ink dies and put them to use! Thanks for stopping by to take a peek! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Hi there! Today I have an project that was one of my monthly assignments for Spellbinders. I haven't been able to share much work that has been made directly for Spellbinders as they use it all for advertising and other publications. However, once it hits the gallery on the Spellbinders website it is up for grabs in the sharing department!!!!

I love the photos on this layout. My parents no longer have a house in town, so when they come to town they stay with us. In these photos my mom is sitting in the natural lighting at our kitchen table applying her makeup. My daughter came along and wanted to mimic her Nana. Here they are sharing the double sided mirror.
