In the final round these ladies will be sent Spellbinders™ Paper Arts product and asked to create an assignment. They will submit an essay of approximately 500 words, sharing a little about themselves personally and as a designer. This will be due on February 18.

How fun will this next round be?! It will be neat to see what we all end up making with the same product...and, uh, just a smidge intense!

Since we can't show you our projects that we have made for the first two rounds yet, I'll leave with this card. It was my "reject" card for the second round. There was just something about it that wasn't making me happy, so at the last minute I made a second one. I ended up loving the second, I did something unique with it that I haven't seen anyone else do...can't wait to show it to you all some day.

I'm off to CHA and hopefully a sunny Los Angeles. Love hanging out with old friends and meeting many whom I only know online.

It's time for CHA...

which means new product to unveil! Today I am starting with the new Butterfly Banner from Clear Scraps.
LOVE! Basic Grey was kind enough to send us all a collection to use with our Clear Scraps product and I was ever so fortunate to receive the Curio collection. Yep, made me one happy little camper!

I have discovered that I am completely handicap when it comes to taking a decent photo of a banner in it's entirety! The length of them makes it so difficult and then the detail is lost in the photos. So, just imagine this strung across the most beautiful mantle you have ever seen. You know think of the white board I have as a background as some sort of green screen. :)

You can see this banner as well as all of the new products on the Clear Scraps website HERE.

Sigh....

This is it, the last of my A Million Memories projects as a design team member (see previous post for details if you are wondering). Today I have two more layouts and three cards to share.

This next layout was based on the monthly AMM sketch...this one was by Zoe Nemburt

Some cards...love that little girl from the October Afternoon Paper, isn't she adorable?!

Hope you all have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

The first of the last...

and in many ways this is a sad thing for me. You see I have been designing for A Million Memories for almost three years now. I have grown so much as a scrapper because of the opportunities AMM has given me. Michelle, the owner, and I have become very good friends and I have made some other really good friends through the design team there. However, with time comes change and change is good. I feel the need for change. So, as much as I do love AMM and Michelle, I have decided to step down from my position on the design team. This kit is my last one that I will be designing with. Let me say, I think Michelle designed it with me in mind...a parting gift if I might say. You see, she filled it with product from My Mind's Eye...my all time favorite manufacturer! Plus, some October Afternoon which I am pretty smitten with as well.

So, without further ado, here is my first layout from my last AMM kit as a member of their design team...

I also have to add that this layout was based on the sketch for the current challenge over on the My Mind's Eye blog. Thanks for taking a peek.

I'll be back tomorrow with my next layout from the kit!

Clear Scraps Blog Hop

Yay, it's time for another blog hop and I am hurriedly typing up this post. You see, the last time we had a hop I lost electricity for 12 hours, had a plan to come home from the Portland Trailblazer game and get my post written and prescheduled to post in a couple hours. Well, by the time we got home...no power and all of my photos for said post were still on my camera. Ugh! Now, flash forward to tonight. Another Trailblazer game and once again plans to get this post up when I got home. We're home and we do have power, but we also have freezing rain, our street is a sheet of ice (yes, witnessed first hand as we fishtailed it around the corner heading to our house) and there is a big accident j that just occurred a few houses down. There are firetrucks, ambulances and flares. They are turning all of the traffic around. So, long story short...I ran in here to get this posted before something else happened and I couldn't!!!!

As many of you know CHA-W (the Craft and Hobby Association winter tradeshow) is just a couple of weeks away. Clear Scraps is releasing a lot of new and fun things. The owners also owned another company that featured cast acrylic and they have now combined the two companies under the Clear Scraps name. This cast acrylic is different from the Clear Scraps acrylic in that it is much more rigid and sturdy, you can't punch, cut, emboss, or sew through cast acrylic. But, it is very cool because you can do things with it that the other acrylic isn't "tough" enough for, Such as make a 12x12 shaped album that has clear hinges and posts with normal refill pages!!!!!!!!!!

You should have arrived here from Elise's blog, if not head back to the Clear Scraps blog and start at the beginning of the list of designers' blogs. You'll be getting a sneak peak of brand new Clear Scraps products that will be available on the Clear Scraps website soon.....

The project I am showing you tonight is one of those new cast acrylic albums that I mentioned above....I can't begin to express how cool these are!

First, no I didn't sew on this cast acrylic, I sewed the paper before adhering it to the album. Notice the little airplane? I stamped that on with StazOn ink. The orange mist is sprayed on the backside of the cover and then I used Super Seal over the top to keep it from smearing.

Now onto your next stop........the very talented Rita is up next.

Just click HERE to go to her blog and don't forget to leave a comment on all of the blogs you visit to be eligible to be entered to win some Clear Scraps!

Feelin' the love

Ahh...Valentine's day is right around the corner. That means lots of pink, red, and hearts. I strayed off of the beaten path a bit with this one. Yep, threw in some purple and blue. Just a simple card using the leftovers from the project I did for the first round of the Spellbinder's design team call. Wish I could share that layout with you, because I love how it turned out, but I can't...

So, all you are left with is this pretty simple card.

What are you all up to on this winter Sunday? My hubby is at work, my oldest is up cross country skiing with a large group from school, and I'm home with the littles. They are over making sock puppets as I'm typing. I'm enjoying the fireplace and hoping that we get the snow storm they say may happen in the middle of the week.

Getting Glitz*y...

I loved, loved, loved the latest releases from Glitz...they were the company at the last CHA whose products I just couldn't wait to get my hands on.  I sat down last week and got started with a layout using their Love Nest line....so vintage-y and I LOVED the colors!

The best part?...I have had these photos of my daughter printed up for a while now and haven't been able to use them because of the purple and pink....there just aren't that many products out there with those two colors together. I also loved the extra pizazz the green gives.

I used a bit of everything from the line on here...the paper layers, the transparencies, the rub ons, and the die cuts.

Thanks for stopping by.
