Mother's Day part one

Happy Monday all! Hope those of you that are mom's had the greatest day yesterday! Mine was pretty much perfect. Homemade breakfast. Thoughtful, pretty, sweet gifts. Dinner out with my in-laws. Time on the tennis court with two of my kiddos. Chocolate milkshakes to end the day!

Today I have the card that I made for my mom. The inspiration for this came from one of the challenges over at Studio Calico, click HERE to see the mood board. As you can see I went with the color scheme, pops of gold, watercolor, stripes and florals.

I started my masking off the background stripes and then watercolor painted them in. I heat embossed the sentiment with gold and then cut out the word happy and popped it up with pop dots.

The flowers were die cut, stamped and then the darker pink areas were done with a pink glitter pen. Lastly a couple of gold sequins. For the finishing touch I made a matching envelope.

Stamps are from Papertrey Ink, Ink from Studio Calico, paper for envelope is from My Mind's Eye.

Thanks for taking a peek today. Come back tomorrow for part two, the cards that I made for my mother -in-law and grandmother-in-law.

Quite the Twosome

Happy Monday morning everyone! Hope you all had a good weekend. Ours was full of activities. Tennis match for me, baseball for #3, soccer and rollerskating for #4, ultimate frisbee games for #1, and work for the man of the house.

Today I have a layout that I made for the My Mind's Eye blog.  I used Now and Then: Mildred for this.
Love the touches of metallic gold in the collection.

These two are constantly teasing one another.

The title was cut using my Silhouette.

The labels across the bottom are from the wide decorative tape in the collection. I used them for journaling and then embellished the extra ones.

Have a super Monday everyone!

A brand new look!!!

I'm so excited! The look of my blog has been so outdated for so long! Check it out…brand new and updated!!!! I've dusted off the place and hope to get back to posting projects on a much more consistent basis!

I have a list a mile long of things that need to be shared with you all. Thought I would start doing so today with a card.  A couple of months ago I sustained a minor injury while playing tennis. One of my sweet tennis friends came over to visit with me, brought some wine, showed some rehab stuff, and commiserated with me. Fortunately I was only out for a few weeks and am back and playing! Made this card to thank her for her thoughtfulness!

Started with a blank piece of watercolor paper and painted on some orange, yellow and pink. Stamped the feather with a grey ink.

Heat embossed the gold specks on the feather.

I die cut the sentiment out of watercolor paper and painted the same colors as the background only using an ombrè effect here. The sentiment was also die cut out of some pink card stock and then the two were layered together slightly offsetting them for some added dimension.

Topped it all off with a scattering of sequins and enamel dots.

Thanks for stopping by today!
