Blog Post brought to you by the letter 'N'

Hi all! It's been a while since I have shared some of my My Mind's Eye projects with you so I thought I'd give you all a peek at what  have been up to.

This project was super easy to make. We're getting ready to do a make over in my daughter's room. While perusing the aisles at one of our local craft stores I came across a 12x12" frame on clearance.
I simply cut the large 'N' out with my Silhouette and then backed the open space with a bunch of different pieces of patterned paper that had been die cut into hexagon shapes.

I stitched around the letter and then embellished with some die cut pieces, chipboard pieces, gold metallic rub ons, and some enamel dots.

I also wanted to add a little more visual interest to hexagon shapes so I randomly hand stitched two stitches here and there.

Now I just need to find some time in our schedule to get the walls painted and maybe this room make over will actually happen!

All supplies are from the My Mind's Eye Jubilee Collection (I used pieces from all four lines- Mint Julep, Tangerine, Wild Berry, and Sherbet)

Fusion

Hey peeps. I wanted to make a card for one of my son's friends for her birthday. So I opted to participate in the Fusion challenge this week. Here's the photo and the sketch that were the inspiration pieces…

and here is the card that I made…

I used a leaf die from Papertrey Ink to make the petals for the sunflower, hand cut the leaves. The panel behind the flower was white piece of card stock inked up with Distress Inks and then a coat of Mr. Huey's shine over the top.

Supplies:
Papertrey Ink: Stamps (Tiny Tags I and II) Dies (Tiny Tags, Mat Stack 4, Leaf Prints)
Cardstock (Enchanted Evening)
Distress Inks: Faded Jeans, Broken China

Thanks for taking a peek.

With Sympathy

Hey all…just a quick pop in to share a card with you. We had a team mate who lost her daughter after a long bout with cancer. This one touched a little close to home for me. I used to work with her daughter back when I was nursing. Now her mom and I are on the same tennis team. So sad, this lady has been through A LOT.

Anyway, here's the card I made from the team…

I heat embossed the large butterfly image and the watercolor painted around it using Distress Inks.

Supplies:
Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Life is Beautiful, Think Big Favorites #3)
Watercolor Paper: Winsor & Newton
Distress Inks: Fresh Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers, Spiced Marmalade, Shaded Lilac, Mustard Seed)

Thanks for stopping by!
