Scrapbook Generation's Create magazine

Have you all had a chance to have a look see at the relatively new scrapbook and card publication by Scrapbook Generation? It's called create and is a fun new magazine chock full of inspiration! This month they asked the My Mind's Eye design team to create projects using their sketches.

I love working off of sketches, they provide such a great starting point. What I thought was really neat about this magazine is that they provide four different sketches…one for two page layouts, one for one page layouts, one for cards and one for tags. I created both a two page layout (hadn't done one of those in years!) and a card utilizing the sketches. Below you can see a peek of both projects followed by the link so that you can go and see my projects in their entirety and view the magazine online!

Sharing some love...

Tomorrow is Valentine's day and today I have some cards made just for the occasion. All of these cards were made using the Cupid's Arrow collection from My Mind's Eye. I love that it isn't all pink and red, the addition of the blue and black make this the perfect collection for those guys in your life too!

This set has some great embellishments, my favorite is the new heart/arrow enamel shapes!

This one features the circle stickers, I just backed them all with a pinked edge grey circle and then popped them up with foam dots.

This next one has all of the different washi tapes.

I'll be back tomorrow with one more set of Valentine cards.

Happy Thursday!

CHA Cards Day Two

Happy Tuesday to you all! Today I am back to share with you the last set of cards that I made for CHA. This set is all made using My Mind's Eye Here and Now (Mildred). I am totally digging the salmon, aqua, and navy blue color combination…mixed in with a smudge of subtle metallic gold.

For this first card I really wanted to incorporate a diagonal dimension. I took some chipboard, stickers and die cuts and split them all in half and then layered them on both sides of the diagonal. Yep, that is metallic god and white striped washi tape peeking out along the edges!!! Oh, and gold glitter enamel hearts!

This next one started with a die from Papertrey Ink, this heart die with two "rows" of stitching holes. I stitched up the inner row, but opted to leave the outer row empty. More gold metallic chipboard, the heart and banner.

This one was actually the first card that I made. I immediately fell in love with that little chipboard macaron and put it right to use!

This last one has some layered chipboard, a 3x4 card, and polka dot washi!

Super fun right?! I'll be back soon, I have two sets of Valentine cards to share with you all!

CHA Cards Day One

Today I have four cards to share with you using brand new product from My Mind's Eye. I was asked to design with the new Now and Then - Milo collection for the booth at CHA. For any non crafty peeps that may be viewing this CHA is a large trade show put on by the Craft and Hobby association.

Here are the four cards that I made with this line.

Love the large number stickers and the silver chipboard stars on this one...

This color scheme is so fun! I am smitten with the aqua, teal, green, yellow and silver.

See the strip of three "doilies" below? That is one of the new wide decorative tapes!

I have become a big fan of grey and yellow, and the pop of teal flowers is fun!

See you tomorrow when I will share my projects that I made using the Now and Then Mildred line.

Love is in the air

Valentine's day is just around the corner and I have been busy making cards just for the occasion. I have some Papertrey Ink products that I have been wanting to use. Today I have two cards to share with you.

Used many of the same products on both cards, one incorporates the negative space of the LOVE die and the other uses the positive space.

For this one I started by alternating strips of washi tape on my card base, then put the negative cutout over the top.

Tapes, patterned paper, and enamel dots all are from My Mind's Eye (Cut & Paste: Adorbs).

Here is the second card…

Instead of cutting my card front with the heart cover plate I embossed it. Next I stamped one row of hearts down the middle and singled one of those out with some hand stitching. Popped the positive space from the LOVE die cut up with some foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by today to have a little look see!
