Happy Birthday to you!

Thought I would pop in and share a card that I made a couple of weeks ago for one of my husband's partners who was celebrating her 40th birthday...

Used Glitz Designs papers and dies/stamps from Papertrey Ink.

Loving the happy colors here. Topped it off with some hand-dyed seam binding, twine, button and jewels.

Are you all ready for Christmas??? I have gifts all purchased, but lots of wrapping to go.
Oh, and lots of baking...my family feels the need for all of the holiday treats.

Happy Wednesday to you all!

Big Brother...

I was going through my photo files and found a few layouts for My Mind's Eye that I haven't shared here on my blog yet. Time to play a little catch up.

Starting with my favorite of the bunch! This was for a color inspiration photo, I decided to use more than just the colors in this mood board, but also many of the other little details that you can see in the photo.

I pulled the ombre, chevrons, black glitter, and hole "pokes" from the photo.

Love this photo, she had no idea he was in the house behind her looking out the window. Love how the bright foliage in our yard is reflecting in the window...camouflaging him.

Used the Miss Caroline, Lost & Found Record It (Heirloom), and Chalk Studio collections for this.

Christmas cards

Happy Tuesday!!! I have a few cards to share with you today! Last month I subscribed to the Simon Says Stamp monthly card kit. The first kit that I received was the December kit which was holiday themed. Snowflakes, deer, and christmas colors. A fun little kit for sure.

Here are the four cards that I have made this far, still have enough product left to make many many more!

The first card...love the little bit of pink in the paper.'

This second card has the cute little 'Warm holiday wishes' stamped inside. It utilizes the snowflake mask which I misted around and then heat embossed.

For this one I created a background my repeatedly stamping the x's & o's stamp in red and brown and then glittered the entire thing.

Lastly a sparkly heart, I used those tiny little sequins and outlined my heart with them. The big stamped heart in the sentiment is sparkly too, I just colored it in with a red Spica glitter pen.

Thanks for stopping by today!

How Sweet It Is

Brrrrr.....hope you all are staying warm during this arctic chill. Today I have a layout from My Mind's Eye to share with you. This one was a style swap layout. Tina (Walker) and I were assigned to do a layout based on using each other's style.

I am one of Tina's biggest fans so I was excited for this project. When I look at Tina's style I see layers, mixed media and lots of photos of her beloved dog. To start with I pulled out a photo of my husband and our dog asleep on the couch, a weekly (at least) occurrence in our house! I started by cutting out a mask for the stars and then misted them onto my base page. The clouds are stamps.

Aren't they cute?! They even share a pillow!

Sprinkled some brads, chipboard buttons, ink sprinkles and enamel dots here and there.

All products are from the Cut & Paste Charm Collection.

Girls having fun

Earlier this year My Mind's Eye was contacted by a Russian Scrapbooking magazine asking if some of their designers would make some projects to be published in an upcoming issue. Here is the layout that I made...

Some friends and I took a quick little trip to Las Vegas, such fun!

Cut the 'girls' out with my Sihouette and glittered it up.

I adore that decorative tape, chevrons in a great color scheme!

All products are from the Find Your Wings and Fly  "Sky's the Limit" collection by My Mind's Eye.

Thanks for coming by today!

Dreams Do Come True

A little over twenty years ago I married my high school sweetheart. I'm loving the life we have built together. Today I have a layout I made featuring a photo from our 20th anniversary. Used the new Simple Stories SN@P! Love Card Set for this one.

This SN@P! cut card that has 'Dreams do come true' die cut out of it was originally a beige color and since I wanted it to be black I simply sprayed with a black mist (Mr. Huey's Atmosphere). it worked awesome and held it's shape great without any warping.

The above glitter banner was made using Scor-Tape.

Some of the hearts that are floating out of the pocket are stickers from the sticker pack and the rest of them were made using some wafer thin metal dies from Papertrey Ink.

These new SN@P! Card sets are so versatile, great for layouts, cards, or Project Life type documenting.

Fall is in the air

Not sure about where you all are, but here in the Pacific Northwest fall has definitely made it's appearance. The air is chillier, the leaves are beautiful with their colors, and the rain has made itself known again.

Today I have a trio of cards to share with you These were all made for My Mind's Eye using a variety of collections. They haven't had a fall themed collection in a while, so for this assignment I had to pull pieces from some different collections. I love doing this!

This first one was made using primarily Indie Chic (paper and button), used my Scor Tape for the stripes of glitter, the wood frame is from Studio Calico, and the rest is from Papertrey Ink (felt, die, and that gorgeous script stamp).

For this next one I put my Silhouette and lots of MME decorative tape to use.

This next uses Indie Chic again. I die cut two leaves out of the paper and backed the negative space with contrasting paper, then I cut a third leaf out of felt and adhered the positive piece to the front of my card. 'Falling' was cut with my Silhouette.

Happy fall to you all!!!

Growing in Unity Day 5

Happy Friday to you all!!!! Woo hoo... we made it to the end of the week! This is my last day of Growing in Unity. Don't forget that if you leave a comment you will be entered into a random drawing to win your choice of two Itty Bitty stamps by Unity Stamp Co.!!!

Now for my final card of the week using  the "25 Days of Christmas" stamp set.

For this one I opted to use the banner stamp (love the little pennant that has Santa in his sleigh on it!), and I stamped it in three different colors. For a little extra detail, I added a little twine bow to the end of each banner.

Thank you all so much for joining me this week, it has been fun. I hope I inspired each of you a bit.
Check back on Monday and I will post the winner of the Itty Bitty stamp drawing!

Growing In Unity Day 4

Happy Thursday all! Seems a little strange to be posting Christmas cards this week. Our weather has been gorgeous, but when Christmas comes around I'll be glad to have some of these done!

Today is my fourth post for my week of Growing In Unity. The same goes today as for the other days, leave a comment to be eligible to win two Itty Bitty stamps of your choice. One lucky random winner will be chosen from all of the comments left this week!

Once again I am using the "25 Days of Christmas" stamp set. For this card I started by die cutting a snowflake out of the red snowflake paper. I then used the snowflake trio stamp to strategically place snowflakes on the inside of the cut out snowflake.

Then finished it off by adding some machine stitching and some jewels. The sentiment was heat embossed in white.

Thanks for stopping by today, hope to see you all tomorrow!

Growing in Unity Day 3

Welcome back! Today is my third day of Growing in Unity. As with the other days, make sure to leave a comment on today's post to qualify for the random drawing at the end of the week. The winner will win their choice of two Itty Bitty stamps sets from Unity Stamp Co.

Once again today's card features the "25 Days of Christmas" stamp set. For this one I heat embossed the snowflake trio stamp from the set numerous times on a woodgrain piece of white card stock. Then I went over the paper with some Distress Ink.

For the sentiment I masked off the calendar dates that were inside of the label, stamped the label onto white card stock, cut it out and stamped the sentiment inside.

The striped paper and the tree/heart stickers are from the new Simple Stories SN@P! Christmas set.

See you tomorrow!

Growing in Unity day 2

Welcome back Unity stamp fans. Today is my second day of participating in Growing in Unity. Don't forget to leave a comment to be eligible to win the random drawing at the end of the week, the winner will win their choice of two Itty Bitty stamp sets.

Once again I am using the "25 Days of Christmas" stamp set. For today's card  I chose to use the postage stamp image. I created my background by stamping it multiple times in red, aqua, and green and then just once in silver to create a sort of focal point.

The little strip of washi tape at the top is from My Mind's Eye and the little sentiment stickers are from Simple Stories (the new Christmas SN@P! set).

Hope to see you back here again tomorrow. Thanks for stopping in!

Growing In Unity Day1

Hello Unity stamp lovers! Today is my week with Growing in Unity. Each day this week I will be sharing with you a different card made using Unity stamps. Make sure to leave a comment for each post because at the end of the week I will be randomly picking a comment from the entire week. That randomly selected winner will receive two Itty Bitty stamps of their choice! Check them all out HERE.

It's beginning to look a bit like Christmas here on my blog. All of this weeks cards will be made using the Unity Stamp set called "25 Days of Christmas", it is a set that is co-branded with Simple Stories.

Today's card is a very clean and simple one...

I stamped the sentiment and then heat embossed the snowflakes. Lastly I topped off the two largest snowflakes with some jewels. Super quick and easy!

See you again tomorrow!

New Simple Stories SN@P! sets

Happy Friday all! Have you had a chance to take a look at all of the brand new SN@P! sets??? They are super fun and they come in so many different themes! Today I am sharing the Baby Girl set.

When I first saw these sets I was super excited because I just knew they were going to be so versatile!
Even though they are themed and are geared towards Life Documented/Project Life type scrapbooking, they don't have to be used for either of those. For scrappers like myself that is a good thing, as I don't have a baby girl anymore and I don't participate in Project Life.

I want to show you all how easy these are to use on your layouts and your cards.

For the background of this layout I simply made a grid using 6 of the 3x4 cards (the backsides of many of the cards have the prettiest patterned paper designs!).

The rest of my embellishments come from the sticker pack (minus the enamel dots).

Here's a feminine, but not a baby card...

Once again I used a 3x4 card for this. I simply stitched around the speech bubble to add a little dimension to it.

I've been sent more SN@P! sets to work with, so you'll be seeing them soon! Happy weekend to you all!

Simple Stories Vintage Bliss

Happy Thursday all! Hope you have been having a great week so far! Today I have a layout and a card to share with you, both of which use the Vintage Bliss line from Simple Stories...one my favorite collections ever!

I cut the big heart out my background page using my Silhouette and then layered behind it many of the different patterned papers in the line.

I also cut the word 'sweetest' out and backed it with the pink floral paper.

The rest of the embellishments are stickers and chipboard and brads layered together.

A close up of the hand stitching around the big heart.

This card was a super simple one to make. I used the positive space from the cut out of the word 'sweetest' on the layout. The little banner is made using the chipboard pennants, brads, and little flower stickers.

Thanks for popping in!
