Simple Stories and I {Heart} Summer

Hi peeps! I have a layout to share with you today and it features my VERY FAVORITE of all time collection from Simple Stories...I {Heart} Summer. The colors and the graphics, with a hint of chalkboard black....sheer perfection in my book!

Used a pretty simple grid format for this one. I just dress up the squares by matting them with the contrasting yellow pinking sheared edge and some simple stitching. Chose to make the center my focal point and used some directional stickers above and below to help draw the eye in.

The photos were embellished with some simple clustering of chipboard, brads, stickers, flair, layered stickers, and it was all backed with that adorable yellow Sn@p! die cut page.

Happy hump day!!! Thanks for popping in!

Case Study #152

Happy Monday! In between the peach/blackberry picking and hiking this weekend I found some free time on my hands and decided to participate in the weekly challenge over on the CASE study blog. If you click HERE you can see the card by Jennifer McGuire that was the inspiration piece for this challenge.

Here is my take on the card.

I put two stamp sets from Papertrey Ink to use...Scrolling Script and Hello Sunshine, also sneaked in the Mat Stack 7 die.

Now, I have a question for you all...I love the Hero Arts Shadow Inks, but I have a problem with them and am hoping that someone out there has an answer for me. See the green stripe above in the photo (the one on the right)? See that smidge of red in it? Well, here's how it happened. I stamped the red ink first, which then stained my stamp. Cleaned the stamp off with a baby wipe AND stamp cleaner, then stamped the orange, then the yellow and then inked the stamp with the green Hero Arts Shadow ink and when I stamped it, it had "released" the red stain onto my image. The first three inks were from PTI, but I have had this issue with all inks followed by HA. Any suggestions???

Thanks and have a great week!
