Make it Monday Challenge

Hey all! I found myself with a little extra time on my hands this last week so I decided to participate in the Make it Monday Challenge over on the Papertrey Ink Blog. This challenge was hosted by my very favorite card maker of all time, Betsy Veldman. She oozes creativity and does so many unique inspiring things! Click HERE to see her challenge.

Here is my take on it...not perfect, but I am happy with the way it turned out.

The main challenge was that my numbers were not all connected like the word in Becky's sample was, that and the fact that I chose to do a little ROY G BIV action instead of one steady color.

I added the colored jewels to help out with the areas of difficulty.

The sentiment was heat embossed in white and then I colored to 'SMILE' to coordinate with the rainbow spectrum. Lastly, I embroidered a circle around the seven as the recipient of this card just happens to have a 7th birthday party next weekend!

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek!

Simple Stories CHA Say Cheese

Hi everybody!!! Well CHA came and went this week. Did you all find a million new items that you absolutely have to have?!

From what I have seen around the internet it looks like SO MANY of you are loving the Say Cheese line from Simple Stories. It is a fun one. Most of us have Disneyland/world photos and this line is perfect for them and it's versatile too, perfect for general use as well.

I made a card and a layout using this line for the Simple Stories booth. They both are not Disney related, I really wanted to show how this line could be used for so many different things.

I thought those banners around the edge would be a great way to show off many of the papers in the collection.

This was a super simple card to make, utilizing the 3x4 cards makes cards so easy!

I have one more collection to share with you from Simple Stories so I'll be back Monday to do just that.
See you all then!

Simple Stories Smarty Pants

Happy Thursday!!! Thought I would pop in to start sharing with you the layout and card that I made for  the Simple Stories booth and CHA.

This is such a great new line and was so fun to create with. I am hoping to get an album put together for each of my kiddos that features all of their school photos because right now they are collecting in their individual file folders in a milk crate in my pantry. Time to do something with them!!!

For the Smarty Pants collection (love that name! so cute!) I made a layout, a card and a teachers gift.

This layout was a lot of fun to make. I designed it first using my Silhouette, then I saved the file to my library of digital cuts so that if I want to utilize it again I can. I separated all of the cuts from the original design to make the cutting much easier.

and then the card...the inside has a sticker that is of a couple of stacked books and the rest of the sentiment is "in my book".

an lastly the altered item...

Such a great collection! Love the primary colors with a touch of turquoise!

Be back tomorrow with some more Simple Stories, this time it will be the new "Say Cheese" collection which is getting a lot of buzz!

Thanks for popping in!

My Mind's Eye CHA part. 2

Hi all, happy Thursday! I'm back today to share with you the last of the cards that I made for the My Mind's Eye booth at CHA using some brand new releases.

These first two are from the new Cut & Paste-Flair collection. I am loving the aqua, pink and black color scheme and the touch of the very trendy chalk board. I cut the base of this card with my Silhouette and then you can see that I lined the inside of the card with some washi tape (see it peeking through the cut outs?).

This next one features another trend that is oh so hot...arrows (accent them with a bit of vellum and they are spot on with the trends!).

Next up...it's time for Christmas in July! Featuring the new Vintage Christmas line. I LOVE when My Mind's Eye accents their collections with glitter and this holiday line is just perfect paired up with the red glitter.

I just had to use this piece of chipboard...LOVED it! Those jewels are pretty yummy too, they have a little bit extra faceting on them this time and they are lovely!

Lastly, woodgrain....sigh, need I say more?! :)

I also wanted to give you all a peek at the new decorative tape sets, we haven't been sent these yet so I don't have projects that feature them. Aren't the color combinations awesome?! I also love that the tape widths vary, there are thin ones and thicker ones with a size in the middle!

Thanks for stopping by. Up next will be my projects made with the new Simple Stories collections. See you all soon!

My Mind's Eye...CHA

Hi friends! Have you all been seeing all of the sneak peeks and full reviews from all of the manufacturers? Love this time of year, so much new product to be released and so much eye candy!!!

Thought I would pop in and share with you a couple of my projects that I made for My Mind's Eye.
They have some great new lines coming out. I was asked to make cards for the new Cut & Paste line. This line has four color schemes. Today I am going to share with you the cards that I made for the new Charm and Presh lines.

First up is Cut & Paste Charm...

I think is my favorite of the Cut & Paste color schemes. Love the layered embellishments with vellum.

Check out these stitched vellum clouds!!!! LOVE!

Here are the cards that I made for the Presh line...

I just had to put the little salt and pepper shakers to use!!! So cute.

You can check out  all of the new lines HERE.

I'll be back tomorrow with some more My Mind's Eye and then it will be onto Simple Stories!

Happy 4th of July

Wow! I can't believe that this holiday has arrived already! How fast summer goes. Today I have a few cards to share with you. I was assigned to make 4th of July cards for the My Mind's Eye blog. So I pulled out some pieces of the newer collections and some pieces of a not so new collection.

First up, a card that uses all Kraft Funday Bright... (alpha stamps are from Papertrey Ink and the ribbon is from an Anthropolgie bag.)

For this next one I focused on the Decorative Tape sets and covered some chipboard stars with different red and white tapes.

For this last one I wanted to use the cute little bird stamp from Kate & Co. Cambridge Court. I decided to make a play on the saying "Let freedom ring" and I changed ring to...

Hope you have a wonderful 4th of July filled with family, friends and beautiful fireworks!!!

Cute

Happy HOT Monday morning to you all. Wowza is it warm! Yesterday we were lucky enough to be out on the boat and swimming in the middle of the lake. Unfortunately today is back to reality, so thankful for A/C.

Today I have a layout to share with you from My Mind's Eye. This one was based upon an inspirational collage of photos (you can see it HERE...scroll down to June 3rd). First, I loved the colors. I am pretty sure that this was a color scheme that I would not have come up with on my own, but I love how they look together...bright, happy and a touch of glimmery gold!

This one used a mix of products from many different collections: Lost & Found 3 Ruby, Collectable Remarkable, Lime Twist, Miss Caroline, Stella & Rose-Hazel, The Sweetest Thing-Tangerine, Find Your Wings and Fly- Up & Away and Spread Your Wings, Indie Chic- Ginger.

I love pulling an assortment of items from different collections. My Mind's Eye always impresses me with how well their products play off of one another!

Off to water my flowers or else they are going to wither away to nothing!

Thanks for stopping by!
