Runway Inspired

Hey all, hope those of you that have spring break this week are enjoying yourselves. We just got back from Central Oregon where we spent some great family time. Today I have a card to share with you that was inspired by the latest challenge over on the Runway Inspired challenge blog.

The background was made by "smooshing" some watered down distress inks onto a piece of watercolor paper.  Once it was dried I directly stamped the red butterfly onto the watercolor paper.

For the 'hugs' sentiment I cut it out three times in dark grey and adhered those together to give it some dimension. Then to kick it up a notch I cut the bottom half of the word out of a sheet of coral card stock and then adhered a cherry red iridescent glitter to it.

The aqua butterfly and brad  that are in the center of the stamped butterfly are from an older My Mind's Eye collection.

This is the image that was the inspiration for the challenge...

Sparkle & Shine

Hey everyone! I have some fun news to share with you. Today is the first challenge of the brand new Sparkle & Shine challenge blog. I am super excited because I have been asked to join their design team. This challenge is all about adding sequins to your projects, thus the name.

For our first challenge we were issued a photo to inspire us...since this is the first of March what could be better than this for some inspiration?!

Here's the card I came up with...

I started with a piece of watercolor paper and painted the background with Mowed Lawn and Evergreen Bough Distress Inks. Then I used a heart shape die to cut out the four hearts that made up the four leaf clover.

I backed the opening with 6mm Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. These sequins are so pretty. They are clear, but when the light hits them just right they have a mirror effect.

Make sure you hop on over the Sparkle & Shine blog to link up your own projects and to see what the rest of the design team had made. Just click HERE to go straight to the site.

Come back on March 15th when we will have the second challenge for this month, this one will be a sketch challenge!
