Your Next Stamp Challenge #17

Hi all! It's the 26th which means that it is time for the bi-weekly challenge over on the Your Next Stamp blog. The routine goes that you are provided a sketch and an inspiration photo/color scheme then you choose which one your want to use for your project, or better yet both to inspire your project!!!

Here's the sketch...

and here is the inspiration photo/colors...

I chose to use the photo and it's colors as a spring board for my card.

I used the Little Darling Katlyn stamp set for my card, and utilized the no lines coloring method with my Copics. I started by stamping Katlyn in a very light Pumice Stone Distress Ink that I had stamped off on a scratch piece of paper first.

    Your Next Stamp Challenge #16

Happy Friday! It's the 12th which means that it is time for a new challenge over on the Your Next Stamp blog. The challenge is to make a project that is either inspired by the colors in this photo...

or to use the sketch below.

I opted to go with the color scheme.

Using the Spring Birds stamp collection I started by heat embossing the main image with white embossing powder onto watercolor paper.

I then painted in the flowers and the bird. I die cut the bottom of watercolor paper with the Stitched Loop Border Die, removed that and replaced the negative space with a piece of green cardstock that had also been cut with the same die.

Your Next Stamp Design Team Dare

Hi all. I'm back today with another post for my guest spot on the Your Next Stamp design team. This dare is all about "Sunny Days", so use the sun or yellow in your project.

For my project I chose to mask in an image of the sun. Using post-it notes I masked out the rays of the sun and colored them in individually with some Copic markers. The card was then stamped with those adorable images from the new Tee Time stamp set.

The golf green, the trees, the ball and the flag were all cut using the Golf Green die set. After embossing the golf green onto the die and colored it in a bit with some green chalk to give it a bit of variation.

Make sure to check out the Your Next Stamp blog to see what the team has designed for the dare, if you leave a comment there you will be eligible to win a stamp set of your choice from the YNS store.

Your Next Stamp New Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the new release blog hop for Your Next Stamps. My name is Tonya and I am feeling super lucky to be one of this month's guest designers.

What fun this has already been and there is going to be so much more happening this month. Yesterday for the preview day I shared with you a project using the Little Darling Belle stamp set and today I am sharing with you the other new set I received called Tee Time. This set is going to be perfect for dads and people in your life who enjoy hitting the heck out of that little white ball!

I started this card by using the Hills Die to cut the blue and green panels of cardstock. I laid them on top of my card base and separated them a bit so that the black on the base of my card showed through. I lightly traced the two Hills edges so that when I removed the blue and green panels I knew where to stamp my sentiment.

Before placing my sentiment stamp onto my acrylic block I curved it so that it matched the curves left behind by the Hills die. I then stamped both parts of the sentiment with white ink and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. I then adhered the blue and green panels to my card front using foam tape to pop them up.

After stamping and coloring in the three golf balls I fussy cut them out and popped them up on top of the blue paned using some more foam tape. Finished off the card by adding some blue gumdrops and a little bit of glossy accents to the eyes of the balls.

This stamp set also has some really fun dies that go with it and I can't wait to get to put those to use.

There is also a blog hop sale, use this code and go do some shopping!

    Your Next Stamp Preview

Hi everyone! Welcome to my blog. I've been really excited for this month to get here. For the month of June I get the opportunity to be one of the guest designers for Your Next Stamp. Their images are super cute and fun!

Today I have a preview of one of the new stamp sets from this month's release. The set that I used for this book mark is called Little Darling Belle. I used the largest image in the set and made a book mark for my daughter with it.

I colored the image in using Copic markers. The top of the bookmark was cut with the File Tab Die
and then I just round the corners of the bookmark with a corner rounder.

I sprayed the entire thing with some Shimmer mist from Studio Calico (Which is why the images look a little mottled, not sure that I would chose to do it again. If I do I would probably mask  Belle off first.)

In this next image you can see the shimmer effect. I also put glossy accents on all of the stars.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll come back tomorrow for the New Release Blog Hop.

To see what the rest of the team has for you for this preview day make sure to visit the Your Next Stamp blog HERE.

    Cas(e) this Sketch

Hey all. Just a quick card share with you. This one is based upon the latest sketch over on the CAS(E) This Sketch! blog.

I have quite a few die cut feathers left over from a project I did for My Mind's Eye earlier this week so I decided to put a couple of them to use on this card.

I used the feathers in place of the arrows from the sketch. Embellished them with some small sequins and some die cut felt pieces. I wanted the 'thanks' to stand out a bit more than it did so added in some highlights with a black pen.

Here is the original sketch #125

    Thanks for taking a peek!

    Sparkle & Shine Challenge Time

Happy first of the month everyone! That means it is time for the new challenge over on the Sparkle & Shine Challenge Blog. This month's photo is a beauty and full of inspiration.

As you can see I was motivated by the aquas, ombre and the cake! For my cake I used one of the new dies from My Mind's Eye. The scallops of aqua on the cake are actually embossed, I just left the die cut in the metal die flipped it over and blended some cracked pistachio Distress Ink over the open areas. Then I just embellished with some Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and a few little die cuts.

For my ombre background I started with a panel of white card stock and ran some double sided Scor-tape around the edges. I then left the release paper on the tape and started blending in cracked pistachio Distress Ink onto the large white area making sure it was darker near the bottom. Once I was done with that then I took off the release paper and added my glitter.

Hope you take the time to join us over on the Sparkle & Shine blog. You could be the winner of a $25 gift certificate to Pretty Pink Posh.

    Thanks for stopping by.
