Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

Today I am participating in the Papertrey Ink blog hop. I have a card to share with you all that was inspired by this image...

I pulled the mosiac shape and the purple/blues color scheme out of this photo and incorporated them into my card.

I started by watercoloring a piece of watercolor paper using Distress Inks. Ran that through my die cutting machine using the Mosaic cover plate and then adhered the pieces to my card front.

I cut the butterfly out and layered it with white card stock and a piece of vellum. At first the white was a little to much against that vivid background, so I went in and added a touch of color to the wings with some colored pencils.

Thanks for hopping by.

Shooting Star

Hey all, I have a quick couple of cards to share with you. These were both made using the same stamp set from Mama Elephant called Shooting Star. Two completely different outcomes.

For this one I heat embossed some of the tiny stars and the sentiment onto my white yardstick. Then I blended Distress Ink over the top of the entire panel then sprinkled it with some water droplets.

For the star I die cut the star out using the Happiness Year Round die set from Papertrey Ink. I colored the star with a yellow marker and then went over it with a Wink of Stella pen. Then I opted to make a little shaker window and filled it with gold sequins/glitter.

This next card has a much happier and feminine look to it.

I started by stamping the little open star image onto the various white triangles of my patterned paper (which is from My Mind's Eye-Just Sayin' collection). Then colored the stars in with yellow and Wink of Stella.

Next I colored in the adorable little girl with Copic colors to match the paper, fussy cut her out and popped her up with foam adhesive.

Thanks for popping by today!

Super Duper

Thought  I would pop in real quick and share the rest of my cards that I made using the Tiny Heroes stamp set from Mama Elephant.

I die cut the city scape out with a Papertrey Ink die and then backed to opening with little gold stars and purple glitter. Love that little kitty hero, she is the cutest!

For this one I created a little shaker card and filled in the windows of the words using various pieces of glitter.

This last one was quick and simple. Every once in a while I force myself to make a card that uses the little bits and remnants that are sitting on desk...usually left overs from other cards.

Thanks for popping in today...hope you all have a great weekend!

Happy Monday!

Super quick card share today. I'm not usually too much into the cutesy side of card making, but every once in a while a stamp set comes along that is just too adorable. I felt this way about Mama Elephant's Tiny Heroes set. Full of empowered little super girl images, a cute super boy and of course the super hero pets! I've made a handful of cards this last week using this set. Happy to share them with you through out the week.

Here's the first one  and probably one of my favorites...

First I embossed the pierced circle die onto my card front then masked it off and blended in the blue ink. After that I die cut the cityscape with a die from Papertrey Ink's Zappy Birthday die set. Next I ran the cityscape back through my die machine cutting it again with the pierced circles die. Popped it up on my card front with some foam tape.

I had originally colored the super hero girl and the dog to match one another, then when the front of the card came together there wasn't a great place for the dog...so, he got his own little place on the inside of the card.

Thanks for stopping by!
